I am a wife and mother of two wonderful human children and two cute furry children. I am also a physician assistant (PA-C), an educator, and an author. As a physician assistant, I have had the pleasure of working in interventional radiology, emergency medicine, gastroenterology, and pediatric neurology. Currently, I work in the radiology department at Grand View Health and am an adjunct faculty member at Penn State University Lehigh Valley.
I am a lifelong learner and always looking for ways to obtain more information for myself, my family, and my community. I am pleased to have been accepted to the Graduate School of West Chester University as part of the Autism Certificate program. I hope to use this additional knowledge to spread awareness for neurodiverse individuals through children’s books, lectures, and author visits. My educational background includes a Doctor of Medical Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Medical Science in physician assistant studies at Nova Southeastern University – Ft. Lauderdale, and a Bachelor of Science in Vocational Education and Industry Training at the University of Central Florida.
I have also very much enjoyed teaching over the years. I started teaching many years ago when I was a sonographer. Once I became a physician assistant, it wasn’t long before I found myself teaching again but this time for a physician assistant Master of Science program. I feel like education is so important in so many ways. Now that I am a mom, I can see the different worlds that open up to my children with each book they read.
Before I was blessed with this wonderful family of mine, I grew up in Pensacola, Florida which is still near and dear to my heart. We have moved many times over the past decade and have finally settled in the northeast. So, as one might imagine I do miss the warm weather during the winter months. However, I have learned to appreciate the beauty in the changing of the seasons here.
